Now that you have a quadrant plan, choose your three best ideas. Put those ideas in the order that makes most sense - this will establish the order of the key terms in your thesis statement AND the order of your body paragraphs. REMEMBER, your thesis statement ultimately shows your argument (internal factors or external influences) of the most influential factor of somebody's development of individuality and/or self-identity. Follow the hamburger template on the board to construct your best body paragraphs FIRST. Then GO BACK and write your intro paragraph and conclusion paragraph. You really cannot truly cannot re-cap your ideas without paraphrasing your thesis statement.
GOAL - Finish AT LEAST your three body burgers/paragraphs. If you cannot finish in class, your homework is to finish, at minimum, three body paragraphs.

Friday, November 11/18 - After today, between Social Studies and Language Arts combined, you have spent a little over seven hours in our rooms. With the exception of about three hours for direct coaching (both whole class and individual) and CNN News, you worked independently to fill in the blanks of your research, plan your speech and draft your essay.
In terms of task completion, you should have a nicely developed plan with CRAPS-esque details and facts. Hopefully you have a complete rough draft. If you do not have a complete draft, you should push yourself to finish over the weekend, so that you can prepare your slideshow on Monday and revise and edit speech and presentation on Tuesday. Choose three entries that feel comfortable sharing with your family at conferences. Why is this entry important? How did you grow as a result of writing and reading so extensively? If there are entries you are not comfortable sharing, note them with a sticky note and explanation, too.) Use attached list to make sure your notebook in order. If you have had it everyday, great - this task will be a walk in the gorgeous fall park. If you happened to forget your notebook and have entries in other notebooks, FIND THEM AND PUT THEM INTO ORDER with the rest of your work. If you are missing a lot of work, use the list to re-build and fill-in for the waste of time and effort to keep consistent track of your own thinking around the concept of growing up.
